Aerial Photographer Wales - Professional CAA Qualified Pilots

Stunning Aerial Photography and Video

We use the very latest unmanned aerial vehicles or ‘Drones’ to capture incredible aerial images and videos. Drones can go places that just wouldn’t be accessible by any other means. Without the prohibitive cost of hiring a helicopter and pilot.

Due to their size they can fly closer to buildings, quickly and quietly at a fraction of the cost of more traditional methods. The applications are endless and we are currently being booked for site surveys, time lapse building development, sporting events, roof surveys and weddings.

If you would like to work with us on a project, feel free to Contact Us now. Or call 07590 551042. We will explain how we work and if needed, help you through the booking process.

Chasing rally cars around Walters Arena – Glynneath

This is a little snippet from a day out that we had last week at Walters Arena in Glynneath. We were asked to film some aerial footage of a testing day for a Belgian rally team. They were out all day racing their MK1 and MK2 Escorts around a forest rally stage just outside of Merthyr. It was certainly a challenge for us as these rally cars are extremely fast and certainly faster than even our most rapid drones. It was essential that we used a two operator setup. A pilot to control the drone and a camera operator tracking the cars. As you can see this method can capture some truly stunning footage. The dust, even though it provided some incredible scenes, was relentless and we spent a few days after cleaning the equipment, vans and ourselves.... read more

Abergavenny Property Photography

A nice short trip this afternoon for a commercial shoot. We were asked to capture aerial photography and aerial video of this property near Abergavenny. Being familiar with the area we knew that the location of the two iconic mountains, the Blorenge and the Sugarloaf would have to be featured in the images somewhere. We waited for the right day and weather for the shoot and here are the images of this incredible... read more

Penzance Commercial Aerial Photography

We are getting more and more work down on the South Coast lately and for this job, you can’t get much further South without getting wet. We photographed the cream coloured building in the centre of the first image and were asked to get some shots of Penzance to illustrate its position in the town. We weather was kind to us (clouds always give a photograph more depth and dimension) and these are the... read more

New pilot in training!

We had a break from the workload this morning to have some fun and train one of our new employees. He’s well on his way to becoming a fully qualified and once he’s up to the professional standard of our other RPAS pilots, he will be studying hard to obtain his ‘Permissions’ from the Civil Aviation Authority. We took one of the smaller drones out this morning. The amazing DJI Phantom 2. Already proficient in GPS flying the ‘student’ (secret for now) is now learning ATTI flying. While the Phantom is in GPS mode, it will use satellites, gyroscopes and an altimeter to hold it’s position in the air. It is incredibly stable and easy to fly in this mode but as per the CAA guidelines, the pilot has to have a backup method of flying just in case GPS signal is lost. This method is ATTI mode. In ATTI mode the Phantom will hold its height but not its horizontal position. If the wind blows, the Phantom will move and the pilot has to manually correct its position. It takes a bit of getting used to and it’s always advisable to practice this mode on a calm day. Today wasn’t a calm day but the ‘student’ is already able to safely control and land the Phantom in ATTI mode. Now all he has to do is learn meteorology, map reading, Newton’s laws of motion and the principles of flight and he’s ready for the Ground School training. Contact us for more... read more

Sunset in Pontypool on Christmas day. Aerial photography before dinner!

Whilst spending time with the family in Pontypool on Christmas day, I was persuaded to get a drone out. It was only a short flight to show it off to everyone while we were waiting to eat. Luckily the sun was just setting as we sent it up and we managed to capture this image as it disappeared behind the mountain. I’m sure if you look carefully enough, you will be able to see Santa on his way home. Please click on the image to see it full size! Contact us if you would like to speak to us regarding Aerial Photography project.... read more
